6 years ago today, after the rain, walking the roads, trapped by the flooded river for several days, no electricity.
After shots, when the water started going down, finding odd things in odd places. The hay feeder rolled by Daddy's field, the log stuck in the electric towers showing how high the water got.
The view from the Plank's house, the river had been over that bridge. A trailer carried down the river took out the old iron bridge, leaving a toilet behind.
Before and after of the field behind Daddy's house. The feeder was stuck in the tree lines.
The "holler" between Ray's and James' house became a river that we had to cross to get home, at night, far up in the beginning of the field.
The Piney River, where the Piney River Escape is not located.
The river covered the road in front of James' house down to the Bradford's house.
Before and after of the road in front of the Bradford's.
We Are The Boutwells
As I get older, I realize that the story of my family is known to fewer and fewer people. I have photo albums full of pictures and I want to make sure that the stories behind those pictures are known and remembered. So this blog will become a place to share our stories and the stories of our ancestors.

Adam
Adam is my child that hates to get his picture made and, like his dad, usually makes some kind of weird face that totally ruins the picture. Here are some of my favorites of Adam.
So funny...forced to play Barbies with his sister and her friends.
This look...classic Adam.

It looks worse than it was, airlifted to Vanderbilt after he wrecked his Jeep,
walked away with only a scar on his nose.
